I re-coded the demo using semantically correct XHTML and changed the demo’s layout from table-based to CSS-based. I also made the demo fully accessible to blind and keyboard-only users by adhering to IBM’s accessibility standards. * Create four alternate style sheets for demo. The style sheets were designed for the low visibility user and featured zoom, high-contrast and single column styles. I also used JavaScript to create a style sheet switcher to enable users to choose a style sheet on the fly and have the browser keep track of last style chosen. I used Webking and IBM Home Page Reader to test the application's user interface. * Responsible for re-coding UI following accessibility guidelines of the W3C's Web Accessibility Initiative (W3C WAI), Section 508 and IBM's internet standards. The application's front end is driven by Mason (Mod-Perl), XML/XSLT, HTML, JavaScript and CSS. The accessibility changes had to be made within the framework of i18n (internationalization). The application was developed in an Apache/UNIX and DB2 environment. * Responsible for producing iterative documentation for each step of UI development. * Created mockups in Photoshop and HTML to illustrate user flows and UI elements. * Responsible for evaluating and re-coding GUI for a database administration tool. The tool is a Java web application built using Java Struts as its framework. The front end had to be recoded to be compliant with W3C’s WAI, Section 508 and IBM's intranet standards.
